An tiny albino Xenia swimming crab (about the width of my pointer stick) sits deep in the folds of its host soft coral, almost colourless against the pale, wrinkled flesh. It was virtually invisible, given away only by the faintest hint of movement of feeding among the polyps.
I composed the frame to try and pick out its smooth shell against the coral it was hiding in, with just a hint of the Xenia’s alien-like polyps looming over it.
